New Hotel Sonia

We come back to this hotel with our family every year and love it. The restaurant is excellent, and so are the cleanliness and atmosphere. We plan to keep returning for many years.

The food portion was small.

From June 29 to July 6, 2025, my cousins and I stayed here on my friend Andrea’s recommendation. The location is fantastic, and reception welcomed us professionally. The staff were kind and courteous from the start. Our sea-facing rooms had marvelous views, and the rooms, bathrooms, and shared areas were impeccably clean. We had half-board, with meals served on a beachfront patio where the sunsets were breathtaking. The food was delicious: pasta with mussels and beans stood out, but the fried shrimp and calamari, fresh ricotta crepes, fusilli with chickpeas and clams, grilled swordfish, and plenty of other dishes were excellent too. We made sure to compliment all three chefs. The restaurant team were professional, attentive, and very kind, and the lifeguard was kind and professional as well. The owners clearly put effort into making sure guests get efficient, satisfying service. The only thing going for this place is its location, just a short walk from the center. At the beach club, the umbrellas are packed too close together, the shower doesn’t work, and one of our two loungers was broken. The only restroom is inside the hotel. The restaurant felt like a tourist trap despite being 50 meters from the sea. The manager said all the fish dishes were frozen. We were also served warm white wine in a very inappropriate glass. For the aperitif, even assuming I don’t know what a Hugo Spritz is, it came in Styrofoam cups and the amount was nowhere near fair for the price. You can’t reserve a spot at the beach club without being there in person, which may be a blessing if you decide against these conditions. Terrible value for money, wouldn’t recommend.
