This is our second stay, and we're delighted to be back for four weeks. The furniture is vintage, but the place has everything we need. It's peaceful, with fantastic views, and by car it's about 10 minutes to the center of Castellammare or the Tonnara in Scopello. For the price, it's well worth it. The staff are really friendly and helpful. If something stops working, they sort it out right away. We asked for another room and got one easily. When we ran out of pasta, they even lent us some. And although we don't speak Italian, a translator makes it easy to communicate directly. We feel very comfortable here.

The view is lovely, and the fridge-freezer is new and roomy, but the rest was broken-down junk. The house was filthy and smelled musty throughout. Grease covered the kitchen cupboards, and rats and mice made noises beneath the roof tiles. Thankfully, they didn't come out, though we did see them now and then. We had booked two bedrooms but could only use one because the other was locked. I ended up on an uncomfortable, musty sofa in the living room. A fuse kept blowing and leaving us in the dark. The smoke detector also repeatedly went off while we cooked on the gas stove, since the kitchen window wouldn't open. There was no drinking water. I could say more, but I won't stay here again.
