La Casa Del Golfo

Good value for the money. The place was clean and had what we needed, and breakfast was at a nearby bar.

The location was great, and the owners were friendly and helpful. The place had a roomy two-bedroom layout, plus a kitchen, living room, and washer.

I chose this place on Booking.com because of its location. Before I arrived, the owner said they had tried twice to charge my card for amounts we had never agreed to. Payment was meant to happen on arrival, and my card was working fine, so I contacted Booking.com to explain. They got in touch with the property while I was waiting on hold. During that time, the owner made two more charges without my authorization. Those went through, and then the reservation was canceled. Booking.com asked the property to explain, but got no reply. Fortunately, they refunded the money. I strongly advise against booking here, and recommend relying on platforms like Booking.com to avoid a situation like mine, even in the middle of August.

The owner's attitude made the stay worse than expected. When we reported the air conditioning condensation in the morning, we felt blamed for negligence and were asked to pay for a repair without any technical assessment. We were also told to keep the windows open to prevent condensation. Who runs the AC with the windows open in a summer apartment? We hadn't reported the problem beforehand, and had to switch it off at night. The rooms are small but functional for a short stay. Replying to your comment: Whether it was a room with a bathroom rather than an apartment, and whether the balconies had French doors rather than ordinary windows, doesn't change the main issue. You seem to deny that guests stayed there when they leave negative reviews. We were asked for compensation without an assessment by a qualified technician, and you repeated that the air conditioning should be used with the windows, French doors, and balconies closed.
