Palma Dello Zingaro

Scopello was one of the highlights for us, with its lovely tucked-away square, lively nights, and plenty of restaurants. It's even closer than the two excellent supermarkets, which are about 6-7 mins down the road by car. The villa sits at the edge of the national park, with open sea and mountain views that were some of the best in Sicily. Nothing overlooks it, so it's a private spot to take in the scenery and sounds of nature. The garden is beautiful, especially after dark, and the house is immaculate, carefully looked after, and considered down to the details. I've stayed in plenty of private villas over the years, and this ranks among the best. Alfonso was amazing as our host, always quick to respond and eager to make our stay special. This place is clearly his pride and joy, and he's a true superhost and total gentleman. One reviewer gave the place one star, which I can't understand, and their complaints didn't match what we found. The beds were all super comfortable and seemed new, the dishwasher and taps were in great shape and worked as expected, and there are definitely two toilets. The many 5* reviews make sense to me.
