Residenza Le Zagare

What makes this B&B feel so special is the love behind it. Giuseppe, Rosella, Giulia, Anna, and Claudia welcomed us like family, and everyone on the staff treated us as valued guests. They helped with anything we needed, arranged airport transport, and offered suggestions to make the visit better. You can tell this is their passion. I stayed for a month and enjoyed every moment. The central location is close to everything, including the magical sea. The rooms, apartments, and breakfast room are bright, updated, and thoughtfully furnished. My room had a balcony, and guests can also use the rooftop terrace. Having lunch there in the middle of town, surrounded by its sights and sounds, was wonderful. There's a kitchenette for meals or quick snacks, and breakfast brings fresh fruit, pastries, and your favorite coffee made to order. The place is exceptionally well run, with needs taken care of attentively and at great value. It feels like a vacation home.

The room was beautiful, and Guisseppe, apologies if I've got the spelling wrong, was a real gentleman. They even saved us a parking space. A tremendous overnight stay in an excellent location. We only wish we'd stayed longer.

Giuseppe made us feel like we'd return in a heartbeat. He's attentive without hovering, always ready with recommendations for restaurants, destinations and beaches, and happy to chat. With our hire car, parking on those streets would have been near impossible without his help. By coincidence or design, he was there each time we came back to help us find and park in a space. The room was spotless, with lovely staff cleaning it every day, and a nice balcony over the street. The built-in kitchenette was small but very usable, as long as you're not cooking every meal. A perfect hotel for a week in Northern Sicily.

At check-in, the hotel staff spoke to me quite rudely, saying they were concerned I might party and make noise, though there was no reason for that assumption. They suggested I cancel the reservation, so I did. That kind of treatment is unacceptable, and it left me needing to find somewhere else immediately. Luckily, I found a much better place, but I'd recommend sparing yourself the upset and not booking at Le Zagare hotel.
