Watch out on the driveway. I got a parking ticket for more than €400 a year later.

The accommodation was okay, but the arrival by car turned into a costly problem. You need a special permit, and we were fined over €430 after being filmed driving straight to the place. The owner never drew our attention to the signs and didn’t help afterward. Very disappointing.

The kitchen was missing a few basics: I would have liked a microwave and dish drainer, and there was no oil, sugar, or coarse salt, just an open jar of table salt. For a place rented as a house with a kitchen, it would be good to have small amounts of these things, especially for short stays. It’s a simple summer home, set in an outbuilding behind the owners’ villa. I liked the house and the welcome was very warm. Getting there takes some effort, though. The road is long, uphill, bumpy and unpaved. A small car can manage it, but I wish I’d known before we arrived.

The inside was fine, but the kitchenette didn’t have much equipment, and I wasn’t sure the dishes were clean. No one was there to welcome us when we arrived. There’s no view of the sea or garden from the house, and the enclosed “terrace” looks onto the road’s retaining wall.
