The architecture is interesting, and the grounds are huge, with several hotels and hundreds of lodges tucked into the woods. We stayed at Kalidria, the one nearest the sea; Alborea and two other hotels are there too. You can take a shuttle or walk about 30 minutes to reach the water. The sea was clear and warm, 24°C in October. Getting there is a bit awkward. Don’t be put off by the traffic signs saying not to go due to flooding. Keep going unless there really is flooding. At the roundabout, take the third exit and continue to the gate or barrier to sign in.

Really enjoyed our second visit. The place was spotless and we had a great time. It’s geared toward families, though, so if you want a quieter holiday, avoid the school holidays.

The cabins are tucked into the pine forest, while there are also rooms in the main building. These cabins aren’t like ordinary bungalows: they’re well built and soundproofed. They have artificial lakes too, with a very pretty walking path that was lovely for an evening stroll or a jog. There’s an indoor spa that’s beautiful and functional, though expensive, and massages are available. The indoor restaurant is good as well. Everything is set in the pine forest, and a shuttle train takes you to the beach. One downside: the cabins don’t have mosquito nets. It’s worth a try. Was I helpful?
