The courtyard playground is a real treat for kids, with a slide, swing, sandbox, and bouncy castle. The rooms are lovely and have fully equipped kitchens, and it’s a great place to stay while exploring the area. Service at the sweet breakfast was excellent, with homemade cake. I think a savory breakfast is available on request too. And the Grinolino cheese is excellent.

We toured the winery and tasted the wines, which are excellent value for money. Marco Olivetta, the owner, winemaker, and FISAR sommelier, runs a beautiful, well-managed place. The whites include Monferrato Bianco (Sauvignon), Chardonnay, and Cortese; the reds include Grignolino, Barbera Superiore, Barbera d'Asti, and Bonarda. The Agriturismo is also worth a visit, run exceptionally well by Mrs. Olivetta. Don't miss it.
