The views are amazing, and there’s plenty of space in the apartment. We asked for an extra bed and they added one for a small extra charge, which was fine. The large terrace in the Panorama apartment was a little disappointing, though, since there was barely any shaded seating. It wasn’t really covered and got very hot during the day. It’s lovely and quiet here, with just three apartments set back from the road, and the place has that typical Tuscan feel. There’s a shared grill for all three apartments, which could be nice for eating together if you like, though you can keep to yourself too. The pool is small but pleasant for cooling off; I did miss having a shower there, but it wasn’t a major problem. I’d definitely recommend the place, especially for tasting good wine.

The cottage is wonderfully quiet, with a beautiful view and a lovely pool. Communication with the owner was good even while he was away. Just be prepared for about 3 km on an unpaved road to reach it.

The cold pool was the one real disappointment. After two rain showers and some chilly nights, it was too cold to use, and we’re usually fine with cold water. Even so, we’d book again in a heartbeat. We had a wonderful week in Apartment Olivio, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, with peace and nature all around. The apartment was spacious and nicely furnished. Since we booked both bedrooms, we could use two terraces. The larger one by the extension room for our daughter was much nicer than the small Olivio terrace beside the parking area. A private built-in barbecue beside the apartment would have been a welcome addition. The garden, the views, the lovely scents, pheasants and butterflies all made the stay special, as did our friendly Swiss neighbors. Castellina in Chianti is charming too, with pretty squares, tucked-away corners and excellent restaurants.
