Villa Cristina

I especially liked IL Cantuccio Wine Bar. The hotel was well located for us, with an interesting wine cellar and the town center’s restaurants and bars both within walking distance. Francesco was a hospitable host, and the staff were very friendly. Morning coffee came with freshly baked local bread, which was delicious. I really enjoyed this lovely hotel.

The main problem for me was the lack of transparency. What the photos show is far from what you may actually get. The room we received was in the basement, as others have reported, while the photos you see are all taken in the upper rooms. I don’t consider that honest behavior. The basement room was indecent. It was in a former storage area, with a small window and a ceiling so low you could hit your head. There was mold in the bathroom, and the toilet wasn’t very clean. Had I known the quality beforehand, I’d have preferred to find somewhere else. There are plenty of nearby alternatives at the same price. I’ll post photos here to help people make an informed decision. Update after the owner’s offensive and false reply: - I lowered the service score from 2 to 1 because of the disgustingly false and offensive reply. - I called after seeing a room available on Google for 75€. I never asked for a lower price. 75€ is what I paid for the room. - And yes, all the photos I posted were taken in the room. Edit: The owner’s reply is full of lies, as probably are the replies to other users. That makes this whole story even more disgusting.

Self check-in came with clear, precise instructions, and breakfast was very nice. We were spoiled with La Torre, the most beautiful room, and its views from up high across the gorgeous Chianti region in three different directions.

I loved the croissant 🥐😄! This lovely B&B sits just outside the center, and Francesco is a gracious host of B&B villa Christina. He’s also a wonderful ambassador for the picturesque village of Castelina in Chianti, always ready with a laugh and tips to make your stay memorable. Thanks for the service and free spirit.
