Hotel il Malandrone

The breakfast was the worst part of our stay, and at €90 for one night, it felt like poor value. We found a small jar of orange juice already on the table, with no idea how long it had been there, plus prepacked fette biscottate and jam. Coffee or cappuccino was available on request, and the waiter brought two tiny croissants without asking what we wanted. That was all: no bread, butter, more croissants or other varieties, fruit, or savory food. We did ask if we could have another croissant, perhaps a different flavor, but the man said we could put jam on it. It was honestly depressing. The room was tiny, clean, and unimpressive but fine. The bathroom was small and had no bidet. There were two nearly empty bottles of shower gel and shampoo, from different brands, which looked like they'd been left by a previous guest. The air conditioning worked well. There was a TV but no fridge. The location was convenient, about a 10-minute drive from the nearest beach and a few minutes from the highway. The hotel is beside the highway and a parking lot, so the view from our room wasn't great, though it was OK. The receptionist was friendly and kind, and staff let us check in at 11 a.m. instead of 2 p.m. I'm giving two stars because the room was clean and we could check in early. A lower price or a decent breakfast would have made a difference.
