Casa Bella Vista

The owner was so helpful and nice, and a very good cook. We had a delicious omelette for breakfast and could have dinner quite late. After eating here, we were really disappointed by the food at Turrisi one day. The rooms are a little small, but after a full day of sightseeing in this town, we just went to sleep and it wasn't an issue. They have hot and cold air conditioning, and the parking is convenient. We were really satisfied.

We arrived at 6 in the evening after booking a room, only to be told there weren't any available, even though the booking had been confirmed. They offered no alternatives and sent us away. The room still appears available online, so beware.

We did get an excellent view from our room, and parking the car was fairly easy, but there were several serious problems. The room wasn't clean. The red bed cover looked as if it hadn't been washed in a long time. The bathroom and shower were the worst we've seen in Sicily, and the shower floor was greasy. I told the owners, but they don't understand English. The wooden ceiling hangs very low over the bedroom. My tall husband hit his head when he got up in the night and had a minor injury. Be careful, it could be dangerous for tourists. Breakfast? No comment.

Restaurant review only. We were worn out after climbing up from Taormina and needed something to eat, so this restaurant felt like an oasis. The proprietor first brought us water and coffee to recover, then we had food and drinks. My mushroom tagliatelle was perfect, and my Dad said the mussels in his fruits of the sea risotto were the best he'd ever had. Prices were very reasonable compared with Taormina, and everything was cooked from scratch. When the proprietor couldn't find a taxi for us, he drove us back to Taormina in his own car!
