The stairs up to our tiny room smelled bad and didn’t seem clean. The towels were so worn they looked gray and dirty, as if they’d been white years ago or hadn’t been washed properly. We stayed just one night and had a horrible time. Sara, the owner, turned the heating off in the middle of the night and only switched it back on in the morning. We were there in JANUARY, and the room got so cold we were shivering. I caught a cold because of it. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!!!

Sara gave us a very warm welcome and was lively, attentive, and friendly. She shared tips for parking easily and for free in Siena. We stayed three nights in this small townhouse, in a simple but clean and practical guest room that was cleaned every day. It was €60/night, in a lovely lively village and very well placed, with free parking nearby. Thanks so much, Sara.

The hosts were extremely kind and punctual, and the room was spacious, right in the historic center among narrow lanes and tall medieval buildings. Far from overtourism. The problem was the noise on a scorching night when the windows had to stay open. From early evening until morning, we got an improvised karaoke singer at the local club, voices made louder by alcohol, scooters and Ape cars with leaky exhausts, patiently barking dogs, church bells, Sisley Pandas struggling up the short hill below the windows, teenagers in hormonal turmoil, and grandmothers heading to Sunday Mass.

I saw the property available on Airbnb for one night, December 31 to January 1, for six people. When I contacted the host, they said a one-night stay wasn’t possible. Right after that, I noticed the minimum had been changed to two nights. I think it was unfair and not very nice to change the settings at the last minute and leave people without even a valid reason. I didn’t get any reply when I asked for clarification.
