Villa Orizzonte

The host was incredibly attentive when my daughter had to spend five days in hospital during our stay. She went out of her way to help and even let us stay longer if we needed to. We really appreciated it. After spending a week in another house, we can appreciate this one even more. It has everything you could think of, including a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. We got pool towels as well as regular ones, and two bottles of really good wine as a welcome gift. The pool is great and well cared for, and the views are marvelous. Though the house is older, it's very clean and smells nice in every room. The brochure we received after booking, and found printed in the house too, gave handy information about nearby towns and things to see. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. We loved staying here.

The owner was always available to listen and help, and I'm grateful for her kindness. I had a really good time at the villa. Everything was bellissimo, with a lovely view over the valley of chianty. There's a BBQ, a big table, a quiet setting, a nice swimming pool, and plenty of space for children to play.

The location is lovely, with beautiful scenery, and the house is nicely furnished. The pool is lovely too, but we ran into a serious problem. There are bed bugs in the downstairs apartment. My wife and I were bitten almost every night, and my youngest child got around 20 very itchy bites during our week-long stay. A doctor later confirmed they were bed bug bites. Getting to the house is difficult. The access road has 200 meters of unpaved surface with large pebbles, and the narrow path has stone walls on both sides. You'll need to take the garbage to the bin by car. Given the trouble we had, I think the rent was rather expensive, and we came home feeling bitter.

The owners were helpful with anything we needed during our stay. It's a very quiet place, away from cities and crowds, with beautiful views of Siena and the Chianti region.
