Hotel Steger-Dellai

The food is delicious and gourmet, and staying right on the Seiser Alm is worth every penny. The rooms are big and clean, all with mountain views. I was impressed that the soap and shampoo are handmade bars with no plastic waste. The hotel’s own mountain spring water comes from the tap, and you can fill a carafe with it in the dining room. It’s the only hotel on this Alm with flower boxes on the balconies, giving it the look of a true Almhouse.

We spent 3 nights at Steger-Dellai with our two small children. The rooms are spacious, the food is great, and the facilities feel cozy. It’s a perfect spot for exploring the Seiser Alm.

The location made it easy to get to the ski slopes, and there were trails of all kinds, from easy to difficult. We could take the stroller on many of them, and there was a bus to the top of the mountain plus plenty of tourist facilities. The views from the hotel were amazing, with airy spots to sit in the sun, have coffee, or wash my kid after outdoor play. The spa had snacks, a relaxation room, a sauna, and a small pool where kids could play. I spent a week there with my 5 and 7 years old daughters, and it was one of my best vacations. The staff in housekeeping, cooking, and service were friendly. Cleaning was excellent every day, with attention to details like wrinkly pajamas, a clean bathroom and floor, and fresh towels. I also admired the sustainability choices, from the wooden key card to natural cleaning products without plastic, along with many other details. Breakfast had variety, and dinner was well prepared. You had to say in the morning what you wanted for dinner, and it came quickly and deliciously, so there wasn’t a long wait. They were very open to a kids menu and would prepare different things if the children wanted them. They were also very friendly about the kids’ needs. I was so happy to be there. It had been a dream of mine to visit that part of Italy, and I’ll definitely be back.

The hotel was spotless and everything felt brand new. After a day outdoors, it was exactly what we needed for a good meal, some rest, and a comfortable night's sleep. The bed was cozy, and we woke up to green expanses and mountain peaks. The only sound was cowbells from the alpine meadows, which felt like ZEN in the truest sense. The reception staff were friendly, with special thanks to Veronica, David and Elena. This part of the Dolomite Mountains is well known among skiing, trekking, and cycling enthusiasts. A place to be!
