Hotel Rosa Dei Venti

The room was quite dim, but very clean. Breakfast and WiFi were good, and there's a beach right across the street. The restaurant next door is probably the best in town.

The hotel was a good base for drives along the coast in either direction. We went to Alghero, Bosa, and Palau, and it's only a 3-minute walk to the nearby beach. We preferred driving 10km west to the long, sandy, deserted beaches such as Bau Bau or Di Sorso. Close by, Castelsardo made for nice evenings out; we ate at Al Castello and su Nuraghe, and both were perfect. There are local tourist-style restaurants near the hotel too. We stayed seven nights in July, during the hot season. Every room has air conditioning, and our spacious room had a very comfortable bed and a bathroom that was big enough. Cleaning was daily, with towels and bath products included, and the bedding was changed every 2-3 days. The large shaded terrace with sunbeds, chairs, and a coffee table was a nice surprise, as were the balcony drying racks for towels. Staff were friendly and helpful, and communicating in English was no problem. Breakfast was continental, with local cakes and fresh fruit. The buffet was a bit boring because it had the same things each day, and the cheese and ham seemed more like supermarket products than typical Italian fare. Still, it wasn't overloaded, staff kept replenishing it, and nothing ran out. Coffee was made to order, including cappuccino, Americano, and espresso, and everything came with a smile. The location close to the street is why I'd give it four stars. We got used to the scooters and cars after a day or two. Traffic was fairly light, and it didn't disturb us at night. There are two parking options: paid spaces under the building or a free open-air lot two minutes away.

The breakfast was tasty and the mattresses were comfortable. The room was clean but very sparsely equipped. I was surprised there wasn't any mineral water, glasses, or a kettle. Our window looked onto the inside of the building, so there was no privacy.

We had a good stay. The staff were really nice, and our room had everything working, including good air conditioning. We hadn't booked a sea-side room but could still see the sea. Breakfast had enough variety, and the coffee was delicious. There's a large parking lot near the hotel reserved for guests. I'd recommend it :)
