The room had plenty of space, a lovely view across the countryside, and a great shower, which was a welcome surprise after some less-than-great ones elsewhere in Italy. In the evenings we’d sit by the pool with wine and pick fresh figs from a tree on the grounds. This was our favorite stop during 14 days of traveling around Italy. Patrick and his wife were warm and so helpful. Patrick drove us for a day, arranged two winery visits and a lovely lunch spot, and was always happy to suggest places to see, book things for us, and send map pins for his recommendations. He even got us a table at a great Michelin Star restaurant.

Olive trees, grapevines, and cypress trees framed the countryside views from our beautiful, comfortable room. Patrick and Anna made us feel very welcome and were thoughtful about my food allergies. Breakfast was a lovely spread. It’s such a dreamy place to slow down and enjoy local wine, made from grapes grown right there. We’d love to come back soon.

Our dogs loved being able to run around among the vineyards, which was one of the best parts of our girls’ weekend at Casa Portagioia. Patrick was so welcoming, and he helped us book dinner. Breakfast was great, and the peaceful, beautiful setting is within driving distance of lively little towns. I hope we can return soon.

Breakfast was a lovely way to plan each day with Patryk and Anna, who were incredibly helpful. There was a good range of food, and the cappuccinos just kept coming. The housekeeping was above and beyond, too. The room was very nice, the grounds were beautiful, and walks in the surrounding area were a pleasure. It was hard to leave such welcoming hosts and a spotless property. I’ll be back and would recommend it for a wonderful Italian experience. It’s pet friendly, and definitely take the hosts’ advice about dinner. Knowing a few Polish words wouldn’t hurt either.

The food, atmosphere, rooms, and staff all made us feel right at home. The owners were kind, polite, and went out of their way to help with restaurant bookings, excursions, and excellent winery suggestions. Casa Portagioia was an absolute dream. The only downside was having to leave. I highly recommend it!
