Suite La Gioconda

A charming, roomy place in the historic center, and it stayed fairly quiet even though the windows face the street. Self check-in was handy, and free parking is just a two-minute walk away. The bathroom is a bit smaller than the room, especially the shower, but it was fine. The big concern is the steep staircase to the first floor. It has ropes for handrails, and even without mobility problems it feels risky, particularly when carrying luggage. A good base for visiting Cortona, Arezzo, and nearby areas.

The owner was so helpful and easy to keep in touch with. The place felt fresh and clean, with lots of atmosphere despite being in an old apartment building. It’s right on the town’s main street, and free parking is nearby.

We stayed in the white apartment, which is lovely, comfortable, and right by the entrance, so it works well for anyone with mobility issues. There’s also a red apartment upstairs, but its very steep stairs make it better suited to people without mobility concerns. Maurizio was warm and welcoming, and gave us useful tips for visiting Castiglione Fiorentina. I’d suggest calling him directly to book.
