The room was clean and big enough for me, my wife, our son, and our dog when we stayed at this B&B about a year ago. The bathroom size was fine, but I really disliked the shower’s plastic curtain. After three of us used it, water had pooled on the floor despite me putting one of their towels in front. There’s no private parking, and finding a free spot on the street can be hard in high season. The young woman who welcomed us was friendly at first, but at checkout she was extremely rude over the mix-up with the towel. I offered to come back to the room to show what had happened, and to pay if the towels were dirty. I’ve stayed in Castiglione del Lago many times and found B&Bs that are better equipped, more affordable, and have a much warmer welcome. Those details matter.

The house entrance looks out toward the lake, and the castle is an easy walk away, so the location is excellent for exploring the area. The owner greeted us kindly and was very helpful. Our room was lovely, and we especially appreciated the new, quiet air conditioning. The bathroom could use some updating. There was nowhere to set shower products, the old shower head barely gave a decent flow, and at night the neighbors’ toilet flushing made some pretty disturbing noises. It didn’t spoil our holiday, though.

The lakeside location is a real plus, and the owner was friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, with clean, fresh-smelling linens and towels, and there’s a hairdryer in the bathroom. They’re modestly furnished, and the walls could use a refresh. The rooms are upstairs on the first floor with no elevator. Breakfast isn’t offered, and there’s no on-site parking, though free roadside spaces are a few meters away.
