Agriturismo Romitorio

We didn’t get a chance to try the pool, but it looked like a good place for a family break. The view across the Tuscan hills was lovely, and the rooms were spacious. It’s a charming little farm stay, with cute animals and good homemade food made with local ingredients, including their own pig.

Giulia and Annarita made us feel so welcome, and the beautiful setting and delicious food made Agriturismo Romitorio one of the highlights of our time in Italy. We stayed four nights in September and would return in a heartbeat. It’s a great way to experience Italian rural life away from the tourist scene, while still having modern comforts. Castiglione del Lago has a train connection to larger cities, so it’s reasonably accessible. We also recommend exploring the countryside by e-bike, which you can rent in Castiglione del Lago. Giulia and Annarita, we’ll always remember our stay and hope to see you again soon.

The family who owns the place and the staff were more than amazing. It’s a little island of happiness and kindness. The apartments were clean and really comfortable, and the pool was big and cleaned every day. Thank you for having us, and for everything!

The kitchen is awesome, and the hosts are very friendly. This is a great base for exploring Toscana and Umbria, and it works for couples as well as families with children.
