Residence Ranieri

The rooms were clean and pleasant, and the location is right across from the lake, which is especially handy if you're there for the Trasimeno ultramarathon 😉. Edy and Alfonso, who run the place, are incredibly kind and accommodating. We had a great experience with the place and, most of all, its people. Highly recommend, enjoy!

The pool was a welcome break from the extreme heat. It's not meant for lap swimming, but there's plenty of room to swim about and relax. From Residence Rainieri, it's an easy walk across the street to the lake, about five minutes to the grocery store, 10 to 15 minutes up to the top of town, and around 20 minutes from the train station. The room was very clean and cutely furnished, with the basics we needed for one night, though there was no dish soap. WiFi worked well. We got there early and the owner greeted us with espresso and peach cake. Echo helped translate when needed, and the family invited us to their alpaca farm that evening. We had a great meal at Ostteria le Scalette, then took a passagiatta through town and came across a marching jazz band. All in all, it was a great trip to Castiglione Del Lago. We'd love to visit again and highly recommend Residence Rainieri and the town!

The apartments and residence are lovely and clearly well cared for. Our apartment stayed shaded all day beneath olive and mulberry trees. Edy and Alfonso were warm, thoughtful hosts, and they helped me find restaurants with gluten-free options as well as sharing plenty of tips about nearby sights. We booked only five days ahead, and the price for the first week of August seemed reasonable. We recommend it highly.

Our dog spent hours in Lake Trasimeno, and we could walk there easily from the apartment. The center of Castiglione del Lago is also within walking distance, even though the location is quiet. We spent seven wonderful days at B&B Ranieri. The place was spacious, well cared for, and impeccably clean, with a small outdoor spot where we ate lunch and dinner. The owners welcomed us so warmly and were so friendly and helpful that we felt at ease right away. We were very happy with the stay and hope to return soon.
