Etna Wine Agriturismo

The room was basic and not clean, and the supposed kitchen amounted to one pot and plastic knives for eating. The pool looked awful. There was no service, no explanation, and nothing about wine. For what it costs, this place is extremely overpriced. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Dinner outside was fresh and delicious, with candles and flowers on the tables in a lovely, quiet evening setting. The agriturismo sits high above beautiful green scenery, and I had a wonderful couple of days there. My only issue was the room: my roommate heard and saw termites, which bothered her while she slept, though otherwise it seemed very clean. The staff spoke little English, so having Italian-speaking friends along helped.

Etna was erupting while we were there, which was spectacular. The food was outstanding and the staff were very friendly. Service took a little while, but it was crowded when we visited, so that wasn't the staff's fault. We'll definitely return.

We were hungry and looking for lunch along the road when we spotted Etna Wine open, so we stopped without knowing what to expect. The €25 per person lunch menu was incredibly generous for three people, and everything tasted authentic and deliciously Sicilian. It was also nice to support a local business. Go visit, you won't be disappointed.
