Villa La Meridiana - Caroli Hotels

The room is lovely, with stylish surroundings and a perfect balcony view of the sea. The breakfast, though, is awful.

A historic villa with a sea view, and the staff were so friendly, upbeat, and professional. It has much more to offer than you might expect. Absolutely incredible place to stay, and a definite must to visit ❤️

It’s a museum, a step into the Belle Epoque. There are only four rooms on the 1 floor: the owner and his wife, plus their two children. Absolutely fine, come and stay!

Breakfast was the one part of our stay that really disappointed us. The biscuits and rusks were stale, the commercial juices, yogurt, and milk sat out of the fridge for hours, and the jams had no flavor. The only thing we could eat was the pasticciotto leccese. Yet when we had lunch in the same breakfast room, the food was very good. There’s a fig tree in the hotel garden, but the fruit mostly falls and goes to waste. Fresh figs at breakfast would be appreciated. We also grew fond of the hotel’s two very sweet ginger cats. My husband and I stayed from August 7 to 14, 2024, and it was a relaxing holiday overall. The historic villa is charming and in an excellent location, steps from the sea, with beach access included in the price. Guests can also use the adjacent hotel’s services. The beach itself is tiny, and families with their own umbrellas and towels set up in front of those reserved for guests, making access confusing and blocked. The pool area was quiet and breezy. The villa rooms are very spacious and clean, though they could use updating. The air conditioning was noisy and often stopped or switched itself off overnight. We also had to buy a swimming cap, but saw many guests in the pool without one because the lifeguards didn’t enforce the rule. That felt unfair. There are quite a few things about the hotel and staff that could be improved.
