Castro is a lovely, well-stocked town, with the sea and its characteristic historic center both just a few minutes away on foot. From here, we could also reach all the most beautiful parts of Puglia within an hour by car, so the location worked brilliantly. Four of us spent a week at the property and had a great time. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, with two bathrooms, and everything, including the shared areas, was very well maintained. Francesco was thoughtful and kind, always available but never intrusive. Highly recommended ☺️

It was easy to reach the place from the bus stop or the beaches, both about 10-15 minutes on foot, and Castro Alta’s historic center was close too. We explored Salento using Salento in Bus buses and walking. The hillside setting caught a nice breeze, especially during the cooler parts of the day. Each small unit had a kitchen and its own outdoor table, while the shared area had swings, a hammock, tables, a barbecue, and outdoor showers for cooling off or rinsing after the beach. Everything was perfectly clean and new, including the bathroom with its big shower. The owner was very kind, though a person of few words, and made us feel at home and free to use all the spaces. We found water, salt, coffee, and sugar in the kitchen, and there’s a small supermarket nearby on the walk down to the sea. We’ll definitely return to Castro for its amazing sea and charming town, and stay at Le Turciane again.

My wife uses a wheelchair, and the house was fully accessible. Its location was excellent and very convenient too. We appreciated that the heating had been turned on the night before we arrived, so the house was pleasantly warm when we got there. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. Francesco was welcoming, courteous, helpful, and never intrusive. The house itself was beautiful, spacious, spotless, all new, and had every comfort. TOP hospitality all around. Castro, to me, is the prettiest town on that stretch of coast, a little place perched above a cove with romantic lanes, like Capri on the Salento coast. We slept well and would gladly return next year for a few more days. The residence is beautiful, quiet, and well cared for, and the apartment had all the comforts. Francesco was extremely kind and helpful. There’s a large parking area in front of the apartments with an automatic gate, and they provide a remote. In the garden, a pergola with a coffee machine made a lovely spot for an outdoor coffee in the morning or an evening with other guests.
