20 Miglia Boutique Hotel

We only ended up in Catania because our flight was cancelled. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good, but I wouldn't call this a 4 star hotel. The bathroom looked like work had been stopped halfway through. There were stains on my towel and dirt on the floor, and the area felt awful. The window looked out onto a parking lot and litter, and at night people could be heard screaming outside.

The room was clean and the breakfast lovely, so it worked well for a night in Catania. Still, the streets right around the hotel felt a bit shabby, and my mother was a little scared. It takes about a 10-minute walk to reach the nicer parts of town. Also, don't use the big car park across the road if you expect it to stay open 24 hours. It closes early. We avoided it thanks to street parking, but the hotel could have warned us.

Breakfast was included and was reasonable, and this is a nice little modern hotel. The neighborhood is quite run-down, though. A market had been held nearby earlier that day, leaving rubbish all over the place. It wasn't pleasant.

The staff were very helpful, and the buffet breakfast had plenty of choice. It's near restaurants, cafes, markets, and sights. The place was clean, all the amenities worked, and there was a lift and air conditioning.
