Agatea a due Passi dal Duomo by Wonderful Italy

We were very comfortable here. The apartment is spacious, generally clean, and close to Piazza Duomo, the fish market, and the bus station, with buses to the beach, train station, and airport. The Alibus costs only 4 euros. It’s on the second floor of a building with an elevator, with large windows and little balconies. There are two bathrooms with showers, a washing machine, and two TVs, though the bedroom one didn’t work because of a broken antenna cable. You can hang clothes on a line outside the window, but clothespins or a drying rack would help. The kitchen has an oven, which I didn’t use, a microwave, a small DeLonghi coffee machine with 8-10 capsules, a very large fridge and freezer, a bottled-gas stove, two pots, seven different pans, and plates, cups, glasses, and other basics. There’s no dishwasher. I loved having a juicer and a nearby market with oranges and pomegranates for my daily juice. Each bathroom has a hairdryer, and there’s also an iron and wide ironing board. Wi-Fi was excellent. There’s no vacuum, just a broom, and we could have used scissors, a sponge, and a dishcloth in the kitchen. On arrival in the evening, the area might seem a bit sketchy if you’re new to Sicily, but the locals are friendly and helpful, not dangerous at all. Sicily has an extensive waste disposal system that you have to follow, which in practice means taking some waste out onto the street every evening. The rental agency gave excellent instructions for the apartment and appliances.
