We didn’t get the restful sleep we booked this place for, and I wouldn’t stay here again, even though the host was nice. The walls are paper-thin, and other guests kept us awake until 3 in the morning, talking loudly and bursting into laughter. There was nobody around to monitor the noise or ask them to quiet down. The owner said they aren’t responsible for other guests’ behavior, so keep that in mind if you’re considering staying here. It felt out of control. If you can sleep through loud talking and laughing at 3:30 a.m., you may be fine. Check-in was very straightforward and required showing a passport. There was a €4 fee on arrival, with cash preferred. Security cameras cover the shared areas and entrance. There are three keys between the outside entrance and the hotel room for security, but you have to remember to keep the doors closed and locked. Kitchen utensils and pots are stacked and available. The room has climate control, but the shower doors were broken. WiFi was available, though spotty. Bring the proper adapters shown in my photos. Sadly, it isn’t wheelchair friendly, with only some very steep stairs. Towels are provided, and breakfast costs more than the standard fee.

Carmelo was so welcoming and even helped carry our suitcases upstairs. The room is on the second floor, and was big enough for me, my husband, and our 6 year old son. Double windows kept out street noise, and the location was great, with everything right outside the door. It was absolutely spotless, not a speck of dust, which impressed me because I’m O.C.D! Breakfast was good: a pastry, juice, and coffee per person at the cafe just downstairs in the square. We’d highly recommend it and would definitely come back to Catania. Thank you, Carmelo.

There’s plenty of shopping and several restaurants close by, and the Cathedral and other must-see sights are just a few minutes’ walk away. We really enjoyed this B&B. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Parking is in a lot about a 10 minute walk away, and be ready to carry your luggage up two flights of stairs.

The building is beautiful and well situated, though the outside activity could be heard late at night. It didn’t bother us too much in the end. We only stayed one night, but wished we’d booked longer. After our long trip, the host gave us a lovely welcome, and the room was great, clean, and perfect for our final night in Sicily.

You can’t go wrong with this place by the university square. It’s a quiet historic building, Bellini's "office" UNESCO protected. The rooms are lovely and spacious, with air conditioning and very good soundproofing. Breakfast is served at a nearby coffee shop, and you get a voucher for it.
