We booked two different rooms on two nearby dates, and I’d definitely stay here again. The staff were really nice, which was a big plus, and both the rooms and bedsheets were clean. The location is good, near the old center but away from the less tourist-friendly areas at night. There are restaurants and a small park nearby. The streets aren’t especially noisy, though you’ll want to shut the window at night. One drawback: it takes a long time for hot water to reach the showers, and one shower was so tiny I had to squeeze through its glass door :)

Casa Elide has the feel of a historic home, with its high ceilings, and it’s in a great spot. Carlo and his dad were fun to talk with and extremely helpful, while the staff were all so friendly. Breakfast was a treat, especially the typical Sicilian pastries and the jams Carlo’s mom made. We had a very pleasant stay and will definitely be back!

Casa Elide is in a lovely building, and the apartment itself is lovely too. What stood out was how kind and helpful the owners were. They were easy to reach on WhatsApp for advice about the city or help with requests. We also really enjoyed the included breakfast at Pasticceria Sauvage, just a few steps away. The people there were very kind as well. It’s a shame we didn’t get to meet the owners, even though they really wanted to meet us. Maybe next time!
