B&B Domenico Florio Palace

I felt safe in the neighborhood traveling on my own as a woman. The hosts were wonderful, and the balcony view was just right. My flight wasn’t until 6 pm, so I asked whether I could stay until 3 pm even though checkout was at 11. They let me do it for free 🤗

Breakfast is self-serve, generous and continental, and there’s good food in the neighborhood. The B&B is near downtown, with a bus station about an 18-minute walk away, though the sidewalks are in poor shape. It’s a large, old-fashioned room and everything works. The windows are soundproof, which is nice. There are three big keys to keep track of. The B&B is on the third floor with no elevator, though there’s a quirky luggage lift on the first floor. The people were nice.

The rooms are lovely, and the location and service are excellent. There’s a very good trattoria right across the street, though you should book a table. There’s no elevator, but a small luggage lift is available after you go up some stairs.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were warm, kind and helpful, and my room was spotless and looked just like the photos. You can walk to great restaurants, Penny and Lidl, the beach, the metro and the train station. I’d definitely recommend it!
