The location is probably the best part of the place, and the apartment was clean despite being quite old. I stayed over New Year’s and felt the price was steep for what I got, though it may have been because of the holiday. For the same amount, I’ve stayed in actual 3 or 4-star hotels in London, Barcelona, Berlin, and Zurich. The owner was incredibly friendly and made the stay pleasant. I especially liked the coffee machine available 24 hours a day, with unlimited coffee, water, and some juices. Breakfast, though, was very basic, just bread and jam, and I didn’t try it during my 4-day stay. On value alone I’d give it 3 stars, but the owner was so friendly and helpful that I’m rating it 4.

My room was comfortable and very clean. The place has a European hostel feel, but with private rooms. The location is excellent, just feet from Catania’s busy fish market and on the south side of the central tourist area. Breakfast was pretty limited: bread and jam, yogurt, juice, and coffee. I’d suggest adding fresh fruit or pastries.

We were happy with our stay and would consider returning. The place was affordable and well located, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. Free juices were a nice extra. The Wi-Fi went down and didn’t return until the staff came in the morning, which was the one inconvenience.

The hosts were really helpful and marked plenty of things for us to see on the map. Breakfast comes by coupon at a place about a 3-4 minute walk away, with delicious fresh cornetti in lots of flavors and coffee. The rooms are cool, though the layout is odd, and stairs could be an issue if you’re not good with them. It’s a few minutes on foot from the main square and well worth the money. The main station is quite far, but so is Catania’s heart.

Bad B&B was convenient and very central for my one night in Catania. Since I arrived at night, they arranged an airport transfer for me. The room was clean, stylish, and had everything I needed. I had a great stay and would book it again. Grazie!
