The only good thing was being close to the main sights. We were left with the impression that the owner had no real interest in looking after the place. The bathroom was in terrible condition and smelled bad. The shower barely had room for one person, and there was used toilet paper left from the previous guests. The hairdryer didn’t work, and the rooftop was locked even though it was supposedly available for breakfast. The room was very dirty, with stains on the decorative bedspread. They came in daily to “clean,” but only made the bed. They didn’t change the towels, vacuum or mop, or empty the rubbish except in the bathroom. Breakfast was almost nonexistent despite being included in the price. It wasn’t served until after 8:30, so we left hungry when we had a tour booked. Each morning, the only thing left was one croissant in a cupboard. We never met the owner or any staff. We communicated through WhatsApp. This was the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in.

The rooms are right by the front door, so it can get noisy. The room itself was fine, and so was the B&B’s location, but communication with the owner could have been much better. Nobody is present at the B&B, and everything is handled on WhatsApp. The host wasn’t very friendly. Luggage storage costs €10, which is very expensive. Breakfast isn’t included. You can opt in for €15 per person, though that’s a lot when a local cafe serves breakfast for €4 per person.

It’s a wonderful location, about a 10-minute walk from the center. Vincenzo was an amazing host, and the room was super cozy. They also cleaned it every day, which was a lovely touch. I’d definitely recommend staying here when visiting Catania!

We were truly disappointed after just one night. The place doesn’t look like the pictures and seems badly neglected. It was clean and had air conditioning, but the difference between what was advertised and what we got was a letdown. Breakfast was just packaged sweet snacks, the kind you buy for a few euros at a grocery store. We ate elsewhere. After this stay, we felt sorry we’d come to Sicily for a holiday, though thankfully other places were much better.
