Borgo Palombaio

Inside, the apartment is well maintained, and you can see Etna from it. For the price and quality, it's a nice place, though the location isn't good. The room was clean and had the essentials: a smart TV, coffee, a small fridge, and AC. The bed was comfortable, and despite being near the airport, we hardly heard anything with the window closed. The bathroom was spacious enough, though the shower cabin was a little small. Breakfast was average, with supermarket packaged items and fruit, but the coffee was really good. There wasn't a safety box in the room, though the outside gate was well secured. I'd recommend it for a short solo trip.

We had a very positive stay for our last night in sicily. The rooms are modern, nicely designed, and very clean, with comfortable beds. The welcome was helpful and clear. The location works well for the airport and is not far from the center by car, though it seems a bit industrial and you wouldn't want to walk into the center from here. We had an early flight, so we didn't try the breakfast or other facility. I didn't take a room photo before we settled in, but the bathroom has two good-sized drawers, and there's also a wardrobe in the spacious bedroom with the beds.

We had a really unpleasant stay at Borgo Palombaio in Italy from February 16th to 17th. I paid through Trip.com for a triple room, but we were given a double room with just one large bed. On arrival, the place seemed deserted, more like a residential house than a proper hotel, and there were no other guests. Nobody was around to let us through the main gate, so after calling the number posted there, we waited outside in the cold for 15 minutes before someone came to check us in. The next morning, we left. The hotel gave us an invoice for 75.44 euros, but after the trip I saw that Trip.com had charged me 92.39 euros, a difference of over 16.95 euros. The 75.44 euros was the price for a double room, while 92.39 euros on Ctrip was for a triple room. I emailed the hotel and got no reply. When I contacted Trip.com, the hotel told them the invoice was wrong, and Trip.com eventually compensated me for the price difference. This so-called 3-star hotel felt like a scam. I hope nobody else has to go through this.

We needed somewhere near the airport for a night before an early flight. The owner was wonderful and let us have breakfast 15 minutes before the usual time so we could leave early.
