Cla & Ale Apartment

The rooftop was a great place to sit in the sun while I worked remotely during the week. I spent 10 nights here on my own at the end of February and start of March, and the apartment worked really well for a workation. There are several places to use a laptop: a roomy desk, dining table, and a small wall-mounted table at standing height. The router uses a SIM card, and I could move it upstairs for wifi on the roof. There's a power outlet up there too, so I could charge devices outside. It's a peaceful, private little house tucked into an inner courtyard, with two floors and a rooftop terrace. I didn't feel bothered by neighbors, though you can hear the city and bells from nearby churches when you're outside. There's also a plant-filled terrace in the shade just outside the ground-floor entrance. Via Etnea is a few minutes away on foot, as are Villa Bellini and the outdoor market. I found grocery shopping convenient, with large stores around Stesicoro metro station, close enough to pop over during a lunch break. Downstairs there's a small kitchen, a hallway with a desk, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a living room/bedroom with a dining table, TV, and double bed. The upstairs floor is just another bedroom with a comfortable double bed. Stairs from there lead outside to the rooftop. The kitchen has a gas stove, fridge, and small freezer, plus there's a washing machine. No microwave or electric kettle, so I heated food and water for coffee or tea on the stove. Water pressure was a little low in both the kitchen and bathroom, though it mostly worked well enough. There are remote-controlled AC units in both bedrooms. The floors were a bit cold, so slippers were useful. I slept very well and found it a good spot for both work and downtime. The owner helped whenever I had a question or problem. It might be even nicer later in the season, when mornings and evenings are warm enough to sit outside. A couple of practical things: the stairs are steep, narrow, and metal, so this could be difficult if you have trouble with stairs or slopes. The simple railings may also be a safety concern with small children. Via Crociferi is pedestrian-only, so my taxi couldn't reach the door. I had to walk to the next street, which is lower down.
