Globetrotter Catania

Daniel was a lovely, hospitable host, and we’d happily stay at his place again. We booked the whole building for 10 people and it turned out to be a great choice. All five apartments were clean and well equipped, and the beds were really comfortable. I hope I get to come back someday :)

The kitchen in the main house was well equipped, and we could use it on both stays. The rooms were clean and pleasant. One had a cute little balcony, while the other was darker but quieter since it didn’t face the street. We stayed at Hostel B&B Globetrotter Catania twice, for a few nights in total, and the hosts were consistently lovely and suggested some nice places around town. You can walk to the center, metro, and airport bus. A good choice if you want somewhere near the center without paying too much.

The AC worked great, and the room had one single bed and one double. The single mattress was firm, which I preferred, but the double one was very worn and you sank into it. There was mould on the shower doors, which was disgusting, and the toilet leaked badly whenever I flushed. I didn’t mention it because I was only there for two nights and barely spent time in the room. It was very cheap for mid-August: I booked a week ahead and paid £76 for two nights. There’s a nice bar right next door and several restaurants, though it’s not in the busiest part of the city center. They also offer train station transfers for 10 euros. I don’t regret staying, but be aware of the good and bad points.

The staff spoke good English and were really helpful with suggestions for local food and alcohol. The apartment was cozy and romantic, right in the city center, with small cafes and good restaurants nearby. We got a deluxe apartment with all the facilities for the price of a double room. Breakfast costs extra, but it was cheap, and we could use the kitchen and basic ingredients as we liked. Best B&B service ever.
