Katana Suites Apartments

The apartment has what it should, and the AC worked perfectly. Its location is hard to beat, with restaurants, the metro, trains, and pretty much everything else just around the corner. Bring your own toilet paper and bathroom supplies, though, because none are provided. Cleaning wasn’t done well, and there’s no equipment to clean up with, so the place can get a bit dirty. I think cleaning every 3-4 days should be part of the price.

The only problem was the AC: it ran all day set to 16 degrees, yet the room stayed at 29 degrees. Otherwise, the apartment was stylish, comfortable, very clean, and had everything we might need. The location was great too.

The beds were comfortable, it was well equipped, and communication was easy. The area felt quite safe and the location was great. The street can get noisy, but that’s Catania!

We stayed one night on September 5, 2020, in a quadruple room, apartment no. 3. It worked well for a short visit to Catania’s historic center. The four renovated apartments are on the first floor of a historic building at number 18 Via Manzoni, a street parallel to Via Etnea that runs from the upper end of Piazza Stesicoro to Via di San Giuliano. The bathroom was very spacious, with a large shower, double sink, and big mirror. The fittings were new and good quality, and hot water was readily available. The hairdryer worked, and we had free access to very fast WiFi. The kitchen, fridge, and large LCD TV were new as well. There were no soap, shower gel, or shampoo bottles, and nowhere to put them in the shower. The simple white doors were still a tasteful choice. Mr. Federico was kind and helpful. Getting to the double bed was awkward because it sat close to a plasterboard partition, and it was quite low. We had a very positive stay.
