I've been traveling around the world for nine months and stayed in about 70 places, so I try to be fair and careful. This hostel's staff were extremely rude. They first put me in a part of the property with a kitchen, an empty space with around three rooms and about four beds in each. I went out in the morning to buy food, including chilled and frozen items. When I came back, a rude woman told me I had to move elsewhere. I asked whether there'd be a kitchen, since I needed to heat the frozen food and it was already lunchtime. She rudely said she couldn't do anything. I was left with food and nowhere to store it, not even a fridge or microwave. I've also repeatedly asked for a receipt and got no response. They charge an absurd late-night check-in fee, which isn't listed in the Booking information. I don't recommend this place.

They advertised flexible check-in, but when I arrived they tried to add a hidden €15 fee. Then I waited an hour just to be checked in. ABSOLUTE SCAM

The worst part was that we came away covered in bites because the beds had bedbugs. We were put in a four-person room beside the kitchen, separated by a curtain instead of a door, so strangers kept coming into our space. The Booking.com photos didn't show the room we actually got, which was misleading. The stay was disappointing and uncomfortable.

The rooms weren't clean, and I was charged more than the price they'd told me. Scammers. The center isn't nearby, and the place is in the worst part of Catania. Even my trip's personal driver to Etna felt sorry that I was staying in this area. This place doesn't deserve a good review.

We had a good time overall and nothing really spoiled our trip, though we didn't pay much and weren't expecting much. The nine-person apartment was fine and the beds seemed clean, but the floor wasn't. The owner was okay. The neighborhood seemed a bit sketchy, though the people were really nice and we didn't feel unsafe. It was close to the city center. Don't expect too much, and a few extra sheets would help. We were charged another 60€ on top of the reservation, and the owner said it would be returned, but it never was, even after we tried to get in touch. We'd already been charged another 90€ supposedly for taxes. Anyway, enjoy Catania ;-)
