The location was great, close to the old town, but there were a lot of issues with the house. It’s very basic, with too few linens and pillows for a five-day stay. There’s no washing machine, the sofa bed was uncomfortable, and the living-room A/C was weak and leaking. The TV was unstable and not wall-mounted, and there were cobwebs at the entrance. Ants might get into your luggage. Our car door was scratched during the stay. The ground-floor front door opens straight onto the street, and its inside button can’t be secured. With young children, that felt unsafe. Thin curtains let daylight in from 5 a.m., and the master bedroom’s small window has no curtain at all. The owner was also very insistent that we arrive early, before 8 p.m., and strict about checkout at 10 a.m. It felt like he didn’t trust us, which made things quite uncomfortable.

It’s a compact flat, nicely decorated and stocked with the kitchen and bathroom basics. The host was very accommodating and replied to WhatsApp messages straight away. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the sights and in a nicer area than by the train and bus station. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is that the flat is right at street level, so we had to keep the curtains closed and had no outside view.

Lamberto was easy to reach whenever I needed him. The central two-room apartment was splendid, and I came away with a very positive impression. I’d definitely return.

The room and bathroom were very comfortable, with a particularly good shower, and the living room was just as pleasant. Everything made for an easy, enjoyable stay. The location works well for visiting Catania and the surrounding area, with parking, restaurants, and cafes nearby. Lamberto was a great host, and I highly recommend booking with him.
