The owner was easily the best part of my stay, incredibly friendly and helpful, and he went out of his way to suggest places to eat and things to see. The place works for a solo traveler staying one night, but I wouldn't return because it wasn't comfortable for me. I chose the basic room and it was far too small. The bed wouldn't fit a couple, and even by European standards the shower was unbelievably tiny. There's no lift, and the rooms are up 42 stairs.

The rooms are very new and have everything you might need, with a bathroom that was big enough. We had an issue with ours, and the owner immediately moved us to another spare room. The building is only a few steps from Catania's lively historic center. It's an old Palazzo, though, and there was mold along the sides of the stairs. There are 60 stairs to climb to reach the rooms. That was the only problem for me. I guess it would've been fine if I were 15 years younger 😜

Andrew was brilliant when our flight was cancelled. He helped us check in late at night at the last minute, and the process was so smooth it saved us from spending the night out on the streets. He also pointed us to some brilliant bars. The room and bathroom were excellent and clean, and the location is within walking distance of the main sights. I highly recommend it, especially if you have an early flight the next day.

Andrea made us feel like friends visiting his home, and his thoughtful help was the best part of our trip. The rooms were comfortable, with great beds and showers, and Sinfonia Suites is right in the center of Catania. There’s a very good restaurant next door too. We had a magical time and are already planning another trip to Sicily, with a stay at his little hotel included.

At 1 a.m., after a problem with another hotel, we called Sinfonia hotel. They came right away and prepared a lovely room for us. It was clean, bright, cozy, affordable, and the service was very gentle, with big smiles. Great value for money and management that really cares about its customers. I’d highly recommend it.
