Vesta-apartments

The staff and owner were very pleasant, explained what we needed to know, and quickly arranged everything without complications. We were also allowed to leave our luggage for a few hours before our flight, so we didn't have to carry it around until evening. The apartment was clean and right in the city center. Perfect! We could hear the neighbors in the other apartments very loudly, which was sometimes disturbing in the morning. But all in all, it was a great apartment.

It's very close to Catania's main square, so getting around and reaching places on time is easier. The port is nearby too, which makes it more convenient for nightlife and parties. I found the place comfortable, with the basic things needed for a good night's sleep. For a week, a private room for one person with breakfast would cost around 170 euros. It is quite expensive, but I don't think you'd regret staying here. There are cheaper options, though this is a good choice if you want your own private space without feeling disturbed. There's no lift, which at least keeps you fit by the end of the day. Pack your bags, pick the right time, and explore Catania and Sicily.

The payment process was absolutely annoying and stressful. I made a last-minute Booking.com reservation around 9 am, then at about 3 pm the hotel messaged to say they couldn't provide the accommodation unless I paid by instant bank transfer, PayPal, or Revolut. An international bank transfer wasn't workable because it takes at least five days. I tried PayPal, but it stayed pending until midnight, before check-in. The hotel should take payment through Booking.com instead of a third party. We really don't want that extra process. Since the booking is nonrefundable, why not ask guests to pay when they book, instead of right before check-in and threatening to cancel their reservation?

Getting into the room at 10 am, well before the usual time, was a lovely surprise. Adrian had been in touch with us on WhatsApp from the start, and when we arrived he gave us a great introduction to his amazing city. He even made a video showing Catania's top spots. The room was clean and comfortable, and he accepted my special request. The location is perfect, about a two-minute walk from Duomo square, with the airport bus just steps away. Such a pleasant stay, and Adrian is a kind person. I can't say enough about how comfortable it was. I HIGHLY recommend staying here!
