Vicolo 43 Apartment

The apartment was spotless and well kept, and the listing photos on Airbnb or Google Maps matched what we found. The owner was involved and quick to reply, and sent helpful photos to show us how to find the place. It's in a tenement building, on what might be the first floor or mezzanine, in a courtyard or lightwell area. I couldn't quite tell what to call it. It works very well for two, though four people could stay. There's a roomy living area with a sofa bed that folds out, storage space for clothes, an iron and a small ironing board. The mezzanine has a large, comfortable bed. One funny thing, the bedside lamps sometimes switch on by themselves at night and gave us a mini heart attack. 😂 The kitchen was very well equipped. We only had to buy paper towels. It had dishes, pots, cups, mugs, glasses, a tea infuser, a big fridge, gas stove, microwave and Krups capsule coffee maker, plus spices, a few coffee capsules and milk. There's a breakfast bar with four stools beside it. The bathroom was fine, though another shelf in the shower would have been handy. Wi-Fi was excellent, the TV had Netflix, Amazon and other platforms, and the air conditioning worked flawlessly. The neighborhood is quite littered, and the cleaning service doesn't pick up the garbage very often. We didn't feel completely safe walking back at night, especially from the Piazza Cutelli side, and the street lighting is poor. Nothing unpleasant happened and nobody bothered us. For Warsaw residents, the area is a bit like Szmulki. The neighbors were friendly, including the elderly woman across the stairs, and it wasn't too noisy, apart from one Italian brawl. ;) I'd love to stay here again. :)
