CityGuestHouse Catanzaro

The staff were a huge help, with good suggestions for places to visit and spots for a nice aperitivo. Breakfast was delicious, and the property was clean and well looked after. Its location worked well for both work and exploring the city and historic center.

From the B&B, I could easily head out after work to find an aperitif or dinner, and the historic center turned out to be a lovely surprise. The viewpoint at the end of Corso Mazzini is about a 5-minute walk away and looks out over the whole gulf. I arrived late at night, but the manager was helpful and pointed me to nearby parking, which was useful in the middle of the historic center.

The location is sensational, but it didn't make up for the state of the accommodation. There was mold and dirt throughout the living room and bathroom, and the kitchenette and everything in it were dirty. The refrigerator was horrifying, and the toilet hadn't been cleaned. We had to get the wine opened at the restaurant across the street, then wash coffee cups to drink from because there were no proper glasses. We froze all night with the windows open. I travel often for work and pleasure, and have never had an experience like this. We won't return. Don't book this place.

In the center of Catanzaro, with a perfect location. The staff were warm and attentive, everything was impeccably clean, and breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend it.
