Hotel Alda Amelia

The location is good, and the staff are kind and friendly, but they couldn't make up for the problems we had on this return visit. A year ago, we had such a good experience with the food and management that we came back. This time felt more like a nightmare than a vacation. The A/C didn't work, and a plumbing fault left water dripping through the ceiling and flooding the room for three days. One evening we had to take a freezing shower while the water heater was being refilled, and we spent a night and morning without electricity. After all of that, they didn't even offer a small treat at the end of the holiday.

The restaurant serves fresh, tasty food, and the service is attentive and friendly. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the pool and hot tub make it a nice spot for a relaxing break. It's a quiet hotel in a good location, with a welcoming atmosphere.

The rooms felt too basic, and the mattresses and pillows could be better. That said, it's a good hotel for families with children, even those under 3, and the nanny service for kids up to 4 years old is a nice extra.

The only thing going for the place was its convenient location. The website looks very well designed, but what it shows is far from what we found. Our triple room was tiny and not suitable for three people to stay comfortably, and the bathroom was cramped. Maintenance in the room and around the hotel was poor. The property advertises services for families with children, but I couldn't use any of those dedicated services. Even if I had used some, they certainly wouldn't have met expectations. A disappointing stay, and I wouldn't recommend it.
