Hotel Romagna

We've been spending an 11-day holiday in Cattolica at Hotel Romagna, and honestly, it's the best hotel I've stayed in so far. The rooms are small but cosy, with good beds and a bathroom that looks almost luxurious. The shower was big enough for both of us, and the room, beds, shower and balcony were cleaned every day. We accidentally ended up in each other's rooms with my mother-in-law, but didn't mind at all because it was cosy and nice. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. The owner's daughter picked us up at the airport, and although we didn't speak the same language, we had a good chat on the way. At the hotel, someone helped us with our suitcases and the elevator, the owner at reception greeted us with a smile, and the rest of the staff were kind and friendly. When I hurt my foot, the owner even got a wheelchair for me in his van. They helped with everything and made sure I could still enjoy the holiday. I'd never experienced that kind of service before. The owner also went into the spa to make it cosy and romantic for me and my girlfriend, lighting candles and putting on music. Thanks, boss man! There are lots of things here for a small hotel: a lovely romantic-looking spa downstairs, a playroom for kids, toilets downstairs, an elevator down to -1, and a small, cosy pool. The water looks greenish and smells like the ocean, which I felt was the atmosphere they wanted to create. It was my first time in Italy, and I didn't expect much, but we got the opposite. I don't agree with people calling the rooms bad just because they're small. That's your opinion, and I respect it, but please say you personally didn't like it instead of making hardworking people look bad over a scratch on a bedside cabinet. I also wasn't taken with the breakfast at first, since I'm used to different food in the Netherlands, but that's just my taste. I loved the little cornettos with salami, cheese and ham, the orange juice, the cappuccino with cacao, and the bread. I just don't like croissants with sugar. The restaurant staff were understanding and helpful, and I enjoyed eating there. The same goes for complaints about the food: if it's not to your taste, say so, but that doesn't make it bad. I'll add some lovely photos so you can see for yourselves. The hotel and its staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back next year!
