Safaritent Glamping Orlando in Chianti

The pool area is great, especially for kids, and the pizzas are quite good at a reasonable price. Drinks are expensive, though: about 3.5 euros for a cappuccino and 5 euros for a beer, compared with 1.30 for a coffee in the little town next door. The bread products in the mini-market were also unacceptable. It was the worst brioche, or croissant, I’ve ever had in Italy, and I think it came from a factory pack. We stayed in the Panorama XL, which was decent enough for 100 euros a night. At first our pitch was right behind the restaurant, where constant smoke from the ovens spread across the whole area. Thankfully, the helpful reception staff let us move to another accommodation. Orlando Glamping has some nice parts but was really disappointing in others. We won’t be back.

The animation team and pool were the highlights for us. They ran lots of activities throughout the day, especially for kids, and the pool was very clean with plenty of water activities. The water slide was the best. We were only there for three nights, so we didn’t get to try everything, maybe next time. The resort is in the middle of the jungle, so you need a car to get there, but there was ample parking. As expected for the location, WiFi was a little slow and only available in the main areas. The front desk was helpful and quick to answer. Our cabin was very small, as expected, but had what we needed in a compact space, including kitchen utensils and a coffee machine. It was our first glamping trip and we hadn’t packed toiletries well. Bring everything, including toilet paper, as they don’t provide it a second time. Great value for money, and we had an amazing stay.

The place and service were amazing. The only downside is that you have to drive at least 30 minutes to reach any nearby town or village.

For children, especially the younger ones, there are lots of activities. The plots are large and shady, and the renovated sanitary facilities are new and great. I’d say the campsite is generally good. The main drawback was that the animators spoke mostly Dutch, even during the fairy tale. It wasn’t fair, and I didn’t like it. They should say on the website or somewhere that this is a campsite for guests from there. The activities should be in Italian or English.
