Camping Costa Ponente

The path behind the campsite down to the beach is steep, but it’s there if you want a swim in the sea. We stayed in a tent for two weeks, and it was extremely hot, around 40°C. There’s a clean pool with a lifeguard, and the campsite feels safe for children, with some family-friendly tents too. We also enjoyed the small restaurant’s delicious pinsas. The pictures give a sense of the views around the site. We had a great time.

We paid about 28 euros a night with ACSI, tax included, which felt like great value. The site was really well organised and the staff made us feel welcome. The facilities are very smart, and there’s a lovely big pool on the cliff top with loungers. Most pitches are shaded and all are flat, though a few feel a bit tight. Cycling into Cefalu was a little scary with all the traffic, even though it’s not far, but there’s a good bus service as another option. Probably the best site of our trip through Sicily and Sardinia so far.

We were there for the last weekend before the season closed. It rained, so we didn't use the pool, but it was open and looked very clean. The camping services were clean, easy to use, and convenient. There’s a lovely cafe and bar with a beautiful sea view, and the staff were great. Looking forward to coming back!

The pools and the view are the big draws here, especially for families with children. The toilets and showers are okay, though not great. There was no toilet paper or hand soap in the toilets, but the showers were free. They ask you to leave your car in the parking lot instead of beside your pitch, which seemed odd but was fine. Staff friendliness varied depending on who you dealt with. The road to Cefalu isn't safe for walking or biking, so driving or taking the bus is better. Cefalu is gorgeous. I'd recommend this campsite, with those pros and cons in mind. It's the best in the area.
