Ma&Mi Light Rooms

The breakfast staff were really nice, and the location is quite convenient: the old town isn’t far, the beach is walkable, and having a parking garage nearby is handy. It’s a public lot anyone could use, rather than something included with the booking. The recently renovated rooms seem okay, and breakfast was decent, though it lacked the Sicilian specialties we’d had elsewhere for a similar price. For the price, those things would have earned about four stars from me. The host’s harsh, unfriendly communication changed the stay. His first message warned of a €100 late check-in fee, yet check-in was entirely remote with no in-person contact, so the warning seemed odd. I was on time, but the WhatsApp conversation beforehand was uncomfortable. In the room there was a strict list of rules, including extra charges for more than two breakfast drinks and €8 for towel use beyond what they consider normal. It made me feel I had to be extremely careful, so I took photos and checked that everything worked in case I’d face a big bill later. The room also wasn’t really clean: the toilet paper didn’t seem fresh, there was old water in the toilet brush, and the sheets had stains. I could have accepted these imperfections at this price, but guests shouldn’t be pressured or spoken to rudely when the place itself isn’t perfect. I didn’t feel welcome, and the host turned what could have been a decent stay into a bad experience. I double-checked whether there were any problems with my stay, and I have photos of the room as I left it. The host told me on WhatsApp that everything was fine. I’ve noticed he responds to bad reviews with harsh criticism and attacks on the reviewer, so I’m curious what reply he’ll post. Kind regards :)

A clean, nice room with a kettle and tea. The location is great, about a 10-minute walk to the beach or center. Breakfast was good, and there’s free parking beside the hotel if a space is available. The receptionist was kind and helpful, and communication was good. Recommended. Just a note for older people: the hotel is on the second floor and you have to use the stairs.

Cefalù itself is amazing, but the hotel owner, especially the man, was the shame of the town. He was the rudest and most impolite hotel owner we’ve ever met, and we came to Cefalù to enjoy ourselves, not be judged. It seemed strange and unreasonable that we had to walk about ten minutes to another hotel to pay. We also never agreed on the exact time for payment. Ma & Mi would be our last choice for anyone visiting Cefalù.

Nadie was our host in the mornings and kept checking that we were comfortable. The rooms were clean and nice, and the location is good if you want to be away from the crowds and don’t mind a 10-minute walk. Breakfast changed each day, with delicious homemade cakes and cookies. I’d definitely recommend it!
