We celebrated our 25th anniversary here, and staying at Villa Petriolo made the trip feel even more special. It's a lovely place to unwind, enjoy the house wine, and explore by car. The property sits among Tuscan vineyards and farms, away from the city, so you'll need a car or taxi if you want to go anywhere beyond the grounds. Our Master suite was spacious and well equipped. It had a fireplace, but we would have enjoyed it if it worked. It doesn't, for safety reasons. The property itself is compact and beautiful, with two restaurants and plenty of spots to sit with a drink or food and take in the views. Breakfast was good, with lots of home-grown organic items. We didn't eat other meals there, and room service choices are limited, with an extra 20-euro delivery charge. We visited in the first week of December. The weather was crisp, and the property wasn't full. Service was excellent, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. There's also a great modern spa and a heated pool. Highly recommended.

We only got to stay one night, which was a shame. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and quiet, with nice staff. The restaurants and bar area felt serene. I wouldn't let the criticism here put you off unless you're a complete diva. Our room was among the least expensive, yet it was still huge and luxurious. The view from it wasn't anything special, though it looked inward toward charming buildings. The property is isolated, so it's best for anyone driving around Tuscany. Still, you can just step outside and see the countryside from different angles. We had a beautiful sunset from the bar patio that evening.

The service from the whole team was the best part of our stay two weeks ago. Rita, Lucia, and Alessio at reception and the front office deserve special thanks, and Mr. Niccolo at the restaurant was fantastic. Sara also shared a lot about wine and the high-quality wine made at the Villa. My favorite was the Chianti Reserve. This magnificent property gave us a fantastic stay from the moment we arrived. Our room was beautiful, and nature all around brought peace, lovely scenery, and spectacular views. The heritage of the place feels magical, and the attention to detail throughout really stood out. The restaurant and Sara's wine-tasting tour are both must-do activities.

The hills and grounds are stunning, and the pools are exceptional. It's a beautiful place to relax, and the room was reasonably priced for what we got. Housekeeping and service were slow and just okay. Food choices are limited, especially on weekends when only one restaurant is open. Room service has very poor options. We loved the restaurant and our waiter, Niccolo, was phenomenal, but both lunch and dinner were expensive. I'd strongly recommend renting a car. The hotel can arrange activities and transportation, but the prices are heavily inflated. I travel often for work and personally, and I'm willing to pay for great experiences, but this was one of the most irritating and excessive experiences I've had. Be careful about the costs. We tried an e-bike ride that lasted several hours and cost 160 euros per person. One bike was broken, leaving us by the side of the road for an hour. Our guide said transportation back to the hotel wasn't possible. A different bike had no working pedal assist, making the ride a tough workout. For that price, we didn't enjoy it, though the Tuscan views were stunning and we liked seeing the area. We also played paddle and fell in love with the experience at Centro Padel. Ask for Francesco! After playing, we ended up in nearby San Miniato and loved it. There's so much to see and enjoy there, including essenza. A car service from the hotel costs 50 euros each way. We'd definitely come back, now as more informed visitors.
