I came back to this farmhouse after a year, and it still feels magical to me. Once you enter the estate, the sense of being in another reality surrounded by nature takes over. The rooms are immersed in the greenery, yet Rome doesn't feel far away. Piera and Gioacchino are excellent, very kind and helpful. You can eat at the restaurant or have lunch or dinner in your room, all with a breathtaking view. There are also trekking paths starting right at the farmhouse. I took one of them for about half an hour to reach the waterfalls.

The setting was lovely and peaceful, and the location connects to the waterfall trail. We also appreciated the lady's suggestions for which paths to take, and the view from the balcony was beautiful. But we couldn't enjoy an aperitivo with that view because there was nothing available to buy nearby except Peroni beer. The bigger disappointment was the food, especially at those prices. During dinner service, one young woman was left to handle everyone, so it was understandable that she couldn't keep up. Our wine arrived with the first course, after the appetizer, and the dishes were a letdown. The fettuccine with venison ragù was so salty we couldn't eat it, and the appetizer had been tossed on a plate that looked like it had sat in the refrigerator for hours. The wine wasn't good, and the food was inedible. A €70 dinner for two wasn't worth it. The kitchen in our room also wasn't working, or was unplugged, so we couldn't even make coffee there. Breakfast was the only time coffee was available. A beautiful place, but let down by these problems.
