As Hotel dei Giovi

The room was quiet even with the highway nearby, and there are supermarkets just a short walk or drive away. It’s also handy for getting to either Milan or Como. Our room was roomy and clean, with a comfortable bed, and breakfast was good. The property is older but well cared for, with no obvious signs of age. I’d happily stay again.

The room we switched to had stains across the walls and floor, smelled of sex and cigarettes, and had a torn section of the bed. It made us think someone had been there shortly before us. We went back to the front desk and returned to our first room, only to notice stains and other flaws there too. The pillows were barely an inch high, the bed didn’t seem meant for sleeping, and then the toilet stopped working. We’d first been drawn in by the nice appearance and the convenience of parking right outside the room. But filling the Jacuzzi was a mess: after I picked hair out and sprayed it with antibacterial cleaner for ten minutes, little black bits came out of the faucet, and the bubbles didn’t work. A man at reception offered us another room when we called. We also saw a sign saying sexual services could be booked at the motel, and several older men arrived alone by car. The receptionist wouldn’t discount the stay because we’d paid in advance. I was so disgusted I could barely sleep. At checkout we were charged 8 francs for snacks too. We’d hoped for a nice weekend in Milano and ended up somewhere that felt like a filthy bordello. What a nightmare.

I stayed there from May 12th to 15th and had trouble with the tub and lights in my room. When I went to reception for help, the man ignored me completely and wouldn’t serve me. The woman from the back office had to come out instead. He was very rude, and I believe he was racist.

The food was really good, and everything was clean. Parking was free, and everyone was so sweet and nice. I’d recommend booking.
