Hotel Embassy

Our triple room made clever use of the space, with a very comfortable bed and a storage compartment for luggage. The balcony also had a drying rack, table, and chairs. Everything was meticulously kept, from the spacious common areas and refined furnishings to the pool and wellness spaces. Housekeeping was efficient and thorough. We chose B&B and were impressed by the varied, high-quality buffet: filled croissants, homemade cakes, crepes, eggs, bacon and toast cooked to order, sandwiches, cured meats, cheeses, fruit, and drinks without limit. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. The welcome was kind, professional, and helpful, and we really appreciated how the place combined that professionalism with a genuine family feel. Staying at Hotel Embassy was a lovely experience.

The rooms felt dated, though they were clean. The food was awful, and I don't think the chef was to blame. It seemed he was trying, but something was seriously wrong. They reheated dishes and brought them out again, masking them with different sauces. The drinks were terrible, and we ended up with gastritis, taking ferments for days and Gaviston. Maybe they have a special deal with the pharmacy. That's on me: I ordered toast at breakfast, didn't eat it straight away, and took it out. The owner scolded me arrogantly. On the last day, my replacement meal was two mini sandwiches with almost nothing in them. We'd never had such a bad stay in this beautiful area. We were there from July 26 to August 2.

The pool was beautiful and well maintained, and the rooms were dated but well organized with decent soundproofing. The hotel is on an internal side street, not right on the main beach road. There is covered parking in the building for a fee, and free uncovered parking a little farther away, I think. The place was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful overall. The cleaning ladies were especially kind, and the chef and waitresses did their best. The owners were friendly too, but customer service was zero. During our seven days, they never asked if things were okay or if we needed anything, not even when I paid. I don't think we'll return. We went as a family during the week of August 15, so I won't comment on the prices, since it's known to be the most expensive time of year. Breakfast was generally passable, but the coffee, milk, and cappuccino machines were truly poor. When I bought milk for my two-year-old daughter, a few drops of coffee always got in. The coffee was so bad I stopped drinking it, and instead paid €1.30 each time at the counter next door, with no customer discount despite our all-inclusive plan. Lunch and dinner were embarrassing, like a company cafeteria. Everything was buffet style, even water, so you had to keep getting up for every glass. Signs even said not to refill water bottles or flasks. Meals were precooked, brought out repeatedly, and always the same: three pasta choices that the chef would pan-fry with some water and about ten turns of the pan, then cutlets and fries every day. There was a Caritas-style appetizer buffet, three first courses, a couple of main dishes, a couple of sides, and bread, plus a single-glass drinks machine. The August 15 dinner had a much bigger selection, but the quality still left a lot to be desired. The entertainment was practically nonexistent. A very good 17-year-old girl had a small room where she gathered kids at lunch and dinner and entertained them. She also arranged a little something at the hotel and on the beach for about an hour after meals, but even with her effort it was limited. The photos show children's games on the terrace, but there was nothing there or anywhere else. Apart from a brief spell with the entertainment staff, we had to take our daughter to amusement parks. Breakfast only is my advice. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly, but the experience fell short.

The staff were welcoming, the meals were good though not outstanding, and the beach is just steps away. Don't pay extra for a sea-view room, since there's a building across the street. I'd consider staying again for B&B if the bathroom smell hadn't given me a headache. Some maintenance is needed.
